Dental Veneers in San Diego

What Veneers Can Do

Veneers can radically transform your smile, and in a single procedure they can correct many common cosmetic complaints, such as:

  • Discolored teeth
  • Chipped teeth
  • Worn teeth
  •  Small teeth
  • Poorly shaped teeth
  • Gaps between teeth
  • Crooked teeth

And in many cases, veneer teeth are just the best way to address these problems. Sure, teeth whitening can brighten your smile, but whitening is limited by the natural color and thickness of your tooth enamel. Many people find their smile isn’t naturally as white as they’d like. Veneers aren’t limited that way–they can make your smile as white as you want.

Dental bonding can repair chipped, worn, small, or poorly shaped teeth, but bonding isn’t as attractive as veneers, nor does it last as long. And while orthodontics can correct gapped or crooked teeth, it takes months or even years. Veneer teeth  can sometimes achieve the same results in under a month, and correct other problems at the same time. Veneers are themselves a powerful smile makeover tool.

What Are Veneers?

A popular cosmetic procedure, porcelain veneers are thin, handcrafted ceramic shells that Dr. Safarian custom orders to complement your unique appearance and cosmetic goals. They were originally invented in Hollywood, almost a century ago, and they’re strongly associated with celebrity smiles. Original veneers were actually made of porcelain, and they were so fragile that stars often just wore them when filming–they couldn’t eat with them in. Modern veneers are made of advanced ceramics that are stronger than your natural teeth. These veneer teeth can last for decades if you care for them properly.

After a consultation we evaluate your smile and cosmetic goals, then we will prepare your teeth for veneers. Then we take impressions of your teeth. We send these impressions to a lab, where they craft your veneers to the precise shape and color you requested. then we permanently place the veneers on front teeth, eliminating unsightly gaps, cracks, chips, discoloration, or slight imperfections.

Irresistible Smiles works with professional dental labs for natural, unique and gorgeous veneers. Schedule your porcelain veneers consultation today by calling our dentist office.

How Do I Care for Veneers?

In the past, veneers came with many limitations. Modern veneers can take anything your natural teeth can, so you treat them just like natural teeth. Don’t chew anything that’s not food. Don’t use your teeth as tools. Brush and floss your teeth daily. Some abrasive toothpastes can damage your veneers, but these toothpastes also damage your tooth enamel, too. It’s best to avoid them. Make regular dental appointments to make sure your teeth stay healthy. When properly cared for, studies show that over 95% of veneers last over 10 years, and about 85% last 20 years!
